So what is a limiting belief?
A belief is simply a thought that you’ve had over and over. It’s an idea that you’ve accepted as truth for you. Beliefs act as shortcuts for the brain. There is so much data to process that you’re brain cannot possible break each new stimulus apart and decide and re-decide what each individual, tiny moment will mean. Therefore, you’re brain makes connections and generalizations about what each experience means based on your core beliefs. The brain will then refer to those beliefs to make quick decisions like, “What does this mean?” “Does it mean something good or will this hurt me?”
So… basically beliefs are… shortcuts that help the brain to make decisions more efficiently. Our decisions ultimately determine our actions and our actions are what shape our destinies and how our lives play out everyday.
Our brains consult our core belief systems for everything. When we’re setting goals or there is something we really want, our deep core beliefs decide if it’s really possible and can actually be done. Is it safe to be done?
Your core beliefs are worth examining because they shape the way that we respond to every single situation. Again, they are the reference guide that we use for everything.
So… if you are facing something that feels like an enormous challenge in your life, like relationship issues, divorce, job loss/financial strain, or perhaps a big health challenge that feels hopeless and debilitating.. When you’re in any of these situations your beliefs are very crucial to examine. If you believe that this is just the way your life is going to be, then it will be. There could be millions of options and ideas that could help you with your situation but you won’t notice them or even see them because your entire focus is in the tunnel of fear, hopelessness, or perhaps just survival.
If you find yourself believing that you can’t get well, or your situation is bleak, just know that you will be right. You always get to be right. Remember, whatever you think about and believe with emotion, becomes your reality. You are the sum total result of all your belief systems up to this moment.
The conscious mind takes in about 40 bits of information a second. The subconscious mind takes in about 40 million bits of information a second.
The subconscious has basically 2 main jobs. 1, to keep you safe and 2 to screen information. The subconscious uses our deep belief systems to determine what information to bring to your conscious mind as releveant information and what information to screen out. You can think of it like a little antenna always looking for what will be considered relevant and useful to the conscious mind.
Your beliefs will actually form a screen of logic or a screen of prejudices through which you see the entire world. You’re subconscious antenna will never allow in any information that is inconsistent with your beliefs, even if you have beliefs that are totally inconsistent with reality.
To the degree to which you believe these things to be true, they become true for you. If you believe that you are in a hopeless situation with no answers, or you will never lose the weight, or you will always be at a job you hate, etc. you're subconscious mind will screen out all the possibilities for change and help because your deeper beliefs are set on change and improvement around certain areas of your life being impossible.
The most disturbing thing is, most of our deeper beliefs were formed when we were children and most children have a distorted view of reality because they don't usually have all the facts. So, alot of people are still walking around with destructive beliefs that they don't even realize they have.
This program is designed to help you uncover the destructive beliefs and clear them so you can choose new beliefs that will serve and empower you. - Images (1)
